Company at a Glance |
PTSD Resolution is a registered charity that helps UK Forces’ Veterans to resolve the issues of military PTSD. The Patron is General Lord Ramsbotham, and Chairman Colonel T. de Gauvain (retired). The charity has 200 therapists nationwide, using the HG treatment method. There are no salaried staff or assets. |
The Challenge |
To promote awareness both amongst Veterans, as service users, and also supporters, as donors. As a small, niche charity, PTSD Resolution was operating in effectively a highly competitive marketplace, but without any funds available for marketing purposes. |
The Strategy |
To develop a PR campaign to raise awareness amongst the target audience, as well as opinion-influencers in Parliament, the military, NHS, allied military charities and other organisations. Also, a social media strategy was proposed, to develop content and make cost-effective use of charity news, case studies, research and other developments. |
The Project |
The PR campaign solicited defence sector press in particular, to contribute comment, news and features on topical issues relating to military trauma. The news issue is recurring because of the rising number of veterans from conflicts in the Middle East – but also from earlier events in Northern Ireland and Aden. Reception events were organised in the House of Lords, to engage senior politician and journalists. The social media campaign included daily posting of news on Facebook and Twitter. |
The Results |
The charity’s income has increased by 10x as a result of the media coverage and social media campaign and other efforts. Also, we engaged with the security industry and won major sponsorship by the five leading trade and professional associations. The charity is now a recognised authority on military trauma by the media and a first point of contact by defence journalists. |
